Worcester Film Festival and Artists Clubhouse are excited to announce the return of their popular
film-inspired art trail, “Lights, Camera…Paint,” now in its fourth year. The trail will take place
throughout September in Worcester’s city centre, showcasing art created by local individuals,
charities, and organisations. This celebration of the cinematic world will kick off the 2025
Worcester Film Festival, highlighting the powerful connection between art and film.
The competition opens on 16th April 2025, with the brief available at www.artistsclubhouse.com
until the submission deadline on the13th July 2025. The theme for this year’s trail is “Worcester
Goes to the Movies,” inviting artists to draw inspiration from their favourite films and explore
creative interpretations of cinematic stories, adding in inspiration from across the county of
Worcestershire. Whether through re-telling iconic movie scenes in locations nearer to home,
changing characters using recognisable local faces, or celebrating a beloved local building, statue or
street; we’re looking for unique and fresh ideas that bring the magic of Worcestershire to life
through film and art.
We welcome all creatives to submit their work, whether you’re a beginner or a professional – no
previous experience is required. A panel will select twenty pieces to be featured in the final art trail
along side five works created by local charities and organisations.
Lights, Camera…Paint is a key part of Worcester Film Festival, celebrating the coming together of
film and art. Kirstie, Worcester Film Festival Producer, shared her passion for the project, noting
that film brings together a wide range of creative disciplines. “Film is an art form that incorporates
so many different crafts, and the community that brings it all together is what makes it truly
special.”
Artists Clubhouse is proud to continue expanding this vibrant art trail as a platform for creative
expression at all levels. Founder, Emily Johnson, emphasises the importance of creativity for mental
well-being: “We hope to inspire people to connect with the arts in a way that suits them—whether
it’s through appreciating the creativity around them, engaging in conversations about films, or
exploring their own artistic potential. Embracing creativity in any form can have a profound impact
on mental well-being and personal growth.”
We look forward to seeing the incredible talent that will bring Worcester’s city centre to life with
their artistic interpretations of the movies.
The artists’ open call will run from 16th April until the deadline of 13th July 2025. For more
