A creative exploration and exhibition for Disability Pride Month

Join disabled visual artist Fran Horne for a 2hr creative session where you will create a piece exploring what disability and/or the disabled experience means for you.

It has never been a more appropriate time to bring the conversation on disability to as many people as possible. Any visual artist / creative who identifies as disabled and/or chronically ill is very welcome. Not all disabilities are visible.

After our session, we will hang the work for you in the Gallery (in Arch 28), for a 2 day exhibition on Sat 12 & Sun 13 July.

£12 per participant (to include the creative session, refreshments and exhibition). Workshop materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own as well.

We will not be selling your work from the Gallery, but you are very welcome to have a QR code and other details on display for visitors to contact you directly to buy your work after the exhibition.

You will need to collect your work at the end of the exhibition at 4 – 4:30pm on Sunday 13th (Arch 28) or on Monday 14th July 12-4pm from Fran at the Artery Studios (in Arch 29) let us know if you can’t make either collection day.

PA’s and carers are of course able to attend free. We recommend this for ages 16yrs+ as there may be language and imagery used in emotive work unsuitable for children.

The Artery Studios and Gallery is wheelchair accessible, with step free access, flat door access and an accessible toilet. There is a small kitchen area where refreshments will be available (please let us know any dietary needs). Most workshop furniture is high tables with stools, but we will arrange a space for you to work and participate based on your access needs. There are fluorescent strip lights.
