Wax Carved Jewellery Making Workshop – Heka Jewellery
Join Jo from HEKA Jewellery at Artery Studios on Saturday October 12th 2 – 4.30pm to learn traditional wax carving techniques and make a piece of jewellery in wax ready to cast.
A 2-2.5hr fun workshop with all materials provided including tea and cake! You can choose to make a ring or a pendant. All are welcome and no experience is necessary…
A graduate of the Birmingham School of jewellery, Jo has been a bespoke fine jewellery designer for over 12 years whilst selling her collections internationally and teaching workshops at various venues and festivals.
There is no design or making experience necessary, you will be guided through the whole process including design inspiration if you are unsure what you would like to make. Students often comment how meditative and relaxing it can be working with the wax and making with their hands.
Lost wax casting is an ancient jewellery making technique, and the workshop is a perfect intro to jewellery making for anyone age 16+. You could choose to make a unique gift for someone you love as pieces will be ready well in time for Xmas.
Have your wax model cast + finished by Jo afterwards if you choose, for an additional £35 plus the silver or gold cost calculated by the weight of your piece on the day. If you choose to go ahead and cast your piece the total cost for the ticketed session, plus your finished piece is usually between £85 and £100 depending on how big and heavy your final design is.
Chain will be available to choose from should you need one for your design, engraving and 18ct gold plating can be added on the day at extra cost too
Your design is usually ready to collect from Jo’s Worcester studio within 2-3 weeks of the workshop and can also be posted to you. Spaces are limited to 8 for this event to ensure maintain a quality level of guidance
Please email HEKAJEWELLERY@GMAIL.COM to pay by bank transfer if you do not wish to pay the eventbrite processing fee on top of the £40pp price
